|William Arthur “Bill” Hendricks Sr., 68, Salina, died Monday, April 17, 2006.
Mr. Hendricks was born Sept. 22, 1937, in St. Helens, Ore., the son of Dallas Mallory Hendricks and Geneva A. (Timmons) Simpson. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He was a truck driver at Triangle Trucking in Salina and was an avid reader. He married Winona Jean Gordon on July 3, 1959, in Wamego.
Survivors include his wife, Winona; two daughters, Jacquelyn E. DeLeon and husband Alberto and Melody D. Magathan and husband Brent, all of Salina; three sons, Jerry L. and William A. Jr., both of Salina, and Jeffery S. of Shoreline, Wash.; three brothers, Ronnie L. Hendricks of Wichita Falls, Texas, Mike Simpson and wife Sandi of Joplin, Mo., and Dean Simpson and wife Jan of Dallas; a sister, Mary Jane Chasten and husband Don of Joplin, Mo.; and 11 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Carlson-Ford-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio, Salina 67401, Ken McCormick officiating.
