Caskets Purchased Outside the Funeral Home

I am interested in pre-planning a funeral and am curious about the delivery of a casket bought outside the funeral home. My father-in-law is Jewish and needs to be flown from Las Vegas to Philidelphia to be buried within three days. How can I be sure that a casket will be delivered and ready on such short notice?

Purchasing a casket from the funeral home handling the arrangements may be the best way to assure availability in a timely manner. In lieu of this, you should question the entity (outside casket provider) about their availability and delivery schedule to assure they are prepared to handle the challenge presented by the three-day time period. -- Rob Jones
