Conrad J. King, 90, Wausau, died Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at Mount View Care Center, Wausau.

Conrad was born May 20, 1917, the son of the late Conrad and Theresa (Lindenmeyer) King, Sr.. He married Margaret Cotter on February 28, 1948.
She preceded him in death on March 5, 1999.

Conrad owned and operated the family farm in Edgar until he was 50 years old. The family farm at that time was recognized as one of the first farms to be 100 years old. After retiring as a farmer, he became a custodian at Riverview Towers for 10 years. Conrad enjoyed fishing off his homemade dock on the Wisconsin River. He also enjoyed his raspberries, making maple syrup and woodworking projects. Conrad loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include three daughters, Liza (Duane) Doering, Wausau, Nancy (Bill) Bussey, Bayfield, and Peggy (Robert) Margolies, Madison; six grandchildren, Kelly (Nate)Boston and Duane (Elisha) Doering Jr., Mark and Caroline Bussey, and Justin and Rachel Margolies; two great-grandchildren, Claire Doering and Natalie Doering; and a sole surviving sibling, Clarence (Irene) King, Madison. Conrad is preceded in death by his parents, wife of 51 years, Margaret; four brothers, Rev. Norbert, Richard, George, and Alex King; seven sisters, Conrad's twin sister, Connie Zenner, Betty King, Cecelia Schlichte, Clara Arndt, Verna King, Lorena King, and Marcella Pelatari; and one granddaughter, Megan Doering.

A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m., Monday, July 23, 2007, at St. Mark Catholic Church, Rothschild. Father Allan Slowiak will officiate. Entombment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hayden-Buettgen Funeral Home, Schofield and will continue from 10 a.m. Monday until the time of the funeral liturgy at the church.
