| | | Joseph Karpinske, 93, Wausau, died Saturday, August 18, 2007, at the Hospice House, Wausau.
Joseph was born on September 11, 1913, in Merrill to the late Charles and Veronica (Lapinski) Karpinske. On September 4, 1937, he married Estelle Schilling in Marathon City at St. Mary’s Church. She preceded him in death on December 1, 2000.
Joseph resided in Rothschild before moving to Platteville in 1978, after retiring from the American Can Co. He returned to Wausau in 2001.
Survivors include three sons; Glenn Karpinske, Galena, Ill., Chuck (Carla) Karpinske, Ankeny, IA,; and Gordon Karpinske, Schofield; two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; one brother, Gene (Jean) Karpinske, and one sister Margaret Duboise, UT., along with many friends. Joseph is preceded in death by his wife, Estelle, parents, Charles and Veronica, and one sister Irene Kurtzweil.
The Funeral Mass will be at 11 AM Thursday, August 23, 2007, at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild. Father Janusz Kowalski will officiate. Entombment will be at the Restlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Wausau. Visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of mass at the church.
Hayden-Buettgen Funeral Home, Schofield, assisted the family with arrangements.
