| | | Virginia Koskey, 86, of Rothschild, died peacefully, Tuesday, August 21, 2007, at the Hospice House, Wausau.
Virginia was born in Ringle on July 8, 1921, the daughter of the late Otto, Sr. and Mary (Steinke) Neuendank. She married Edward Koskey on August 22, 1942. They lived at 409 South Line Road in Rothschild, where they raised their three children. Edward preceded her in death in December, 1987.
Virginia baked for several bakeries in the area including Kreger’s bakery, Schaumberger’s bakery, and Best bakery. She served God and was an important part of St. Mark Parish where she and Edward worshipped. Virginia was a former member of the Catholic Daughters of America, and the Ladies Auxiliary for the VFW.
Survivors include three children; Ken (Linda) Koskey, West Fargo, ND; Faye (Ronald) Duir, Schofield; and Judy (Mutch) Owen, Rothschild; Virginia left behind, eleven grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Ann Schilling; one brother, Otto Neuendank; her special friend of twelve years Fred Dylak and close friend Clara Brown. Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Mary, two sisters, and one brother.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon, Friday, August 24, 2007, at St. Therese Catholic Church, 113 W. Kort St. Rothschild. Father Allan L. Slowiak of St. Mark Parish will officiate. Burial will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Kronenwetter. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass Friday at the church.
A special thank you to the Hospice House and all the staff for helping Virginia make her last days comfortable and all the care they have given by making her last days so peaceful. Also, a very special thank you to Dr. Montgomery for his caring and unwavering support. Your kindness means so much to all the family.
