Edwin E. Juedes, 89, Rothschild, died on Thursday, August 30, 2007, at Kennedy Park Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Weston.

Edwin was born May 29, 1918, the son of the late Herman and Anna (Radtke) Juedes. He married (Margaret Sahr) on June 21, 1947 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Wausau.

Edwin served our country with the 17th Airborne Infantry during WWII. Edwin is a former POW, serving in the Battle of the Bulge, where he was captured. He was a member of VFW Burns Post #388, the American Legion, ex-POW Club, Battle of the Bulge Club, and The Last Mans Club. He worked as a Mill Wright for American Can Co. (Weyerhauser) from 1946 to 1980 where he was a member of the Local Union #319.

Edwin loved family, his wife Margaret, and the simple things in life. His enjoyments were to cook maple syrup, gardening, hunting on their 80 acres of hunting land and fishing at their cabin.

Survivors include is wife Margaret, one son, Donald (Stephanie)Allen, Gainsville, Fla., one daughter, Laurie (Scott) Renne, Bellingham, Wash., four brothers, Raymond Juedes, Wittenberg, Herman (Lorraine) Juedes, Wausau, Roger (Marg) Juedes, Brokaw, and Ralph (Geraldine) Juedes, Tomahawk; three sisters, Esther Jones, Oshkosh, Mildred (John) Jablonski, Wausau, and Eleanore Zastrow, Wausau; two sister in-laws, Gertrude Juedes and Janet Juedes. Edwin is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Anna, one son, Kenneth Edwin Juedes, three brothers, Walter, Elmer, and Floyd; two sisters, Marion Chilla and Arline Klemmer.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at the Grace United Church of Christ, Wausau. Pastor Wayne C. Drueck will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Wausau. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday at the church.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs at Kennedy Park and Allison House Assisted Living for their care and compassion

In lieu of flowers you may make donations to Grace United Church of Christ, or the Parkinson’s Association.
