| | | Kurt Habeck, 25, Wausau, died Saturday, January 05, 2008, at the Aspirus Wausau Hospital, Wausau.
He was born January 4, 1983, the son of John Hilmershausen and Sherry (Habeck) Okrzesik.
Kurt loved life, being with friends, and always complimented women on their hair. He worked for Northern Valley Workshop and was very involved with Special Olympics. His enjoyments included cutting the grass, helping around the house with vacuuming, singing karaoke and knowing most of the country western songs by heart. Kurt’s love of life extends to others even today by being an organ donor.
Survivors include his mother, Sherry (James) Okrzesik, Weston; his father, John (Bonnie) Hilmershausen, Edgar; a brother, Joseph Okrzesik, Weston; and a sister, Hanna Okrzesik, Weston; paternal grandmother, Delores Hilmershauser, Wausau; step grandparents, Leroy and Leona Pelot, Mosinee; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2008, at Hayden-Buettgen Funeral Home, Schofield. Pastor Ray Connor will officiate. Visitation will be from noon until the time of services at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Kurt’s memory to the Special Olympics.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Aurora Family Group Home for their loving care of Kurt.
