Wesley J. Beliunas, Jr., 62, Schofield, died Thursday, January 24, 2008, at Mount View Nursing Home, Wausau, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Wesley was born August 16, 1945, in Pittsburgh to the late Wesley, Sr. and Grace (Campbel) Beliunas. He married Lucinda “Cindy” Stroud on October 18, 1969 in Wittenberg.

He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and Thailand for four years. After returning to the states he worked 25 years for J.I.Case, then at Norlen Tool and Kolbe & Kolbe. Some of his greatest enjoyments included standing guard for the White House during the Martin Luther King uprising, watching the space shuttle launch while in Florida for son Matthew and Nichole’s wedding in 2001, doing Bass tournaments with his son, Shawn, spending time with his grandchildren and playing bingo. On other occasions you could find Wesley hunting, fishing and on camping trips.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy; one daughter, Rebecca Beliunas, Wausau; four sons, Shawn (Sara) Beliunas, Wausau, Jamie Beliunas,Mosinee, Mathew (Nichole) Beliunas, Mosinee, and Kevin (Merry) Beliunas, Wausau; Eight grandchildren; Trevor Richard, Jeremy Richard, Emily Beliunas, Jack Beliunas, Mikayla Beliunas, Katie Beliunas, Gabby Beliunas, and Amelia Beliunas; two brothers, Harry (Janice) Beliunas, Baldwin, and Bernard (Debbie) Beliunas, Pittsburgh; one sister-in-law, Yvonne Beliunas. Eugene, OR. Wesley was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley, Sr., and Grace; one brother, Charles and one sister, Gloria Geib.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2008, at the Hayden-Buettgen Funeral Home, Schofield. Joann Chase, the Hospice Chaplain, will officiate. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, January 28 and again on Tuesday beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of services, all at Hayden-Buettgen Funeral Home, Schofield.
