| | | James G. Koeferl, 71, Athens, died Tuesday, January 29, 2008, at the Aspirus Wausau Hospital, Wausau.
James was born November 20, 1936, the son of the late Gregory and Eleanor (Gilling) Koeferl.
He loved spending time with his grandson, Lucas; his little dog, Chewy; farming, raising and selling pumpkins, hunting, and ice fishing.
Survivors include the love of his life, Christine Oleinik-Koeferl, Athens; one son, Gregory (Ken Krueger) Koeferl, Tigerton; two daughters, Mary Ann Behrendt, Wausau, and Nancy (Scott) Liske, Appleton; step-son, Gary Gambill, Athens; and step-daughter, C. Robin Buchkowski, Hatley; nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. James is preceded in death by his parents Gregory and Eleanor.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2008, at The Church of Anne Catholic Church, 700 Bridge St. Wausau. Father Steven Brice will officiate. Burial will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Kronenwetter. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday with a 7 p.m. prayer service at the Hayden-Buettgen Funeral Home, Schofield, and will continue at 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
