| | | Robert J. Hommerding, 84, Weston, died Monday, June 19, 2006, at Saint Clare's Hospital.
He was born July 16, 1921, to the late Phillip and Mildred (Manser)Hommerding. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps, spending
three years in the Far East. On Sept. 28, 1946, Robert married Virginia Delonay in Wausau.
Robert was an auto mechanic in the Wausau area for many years. In his retirement he worked for the Green Thumb program.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Virginia, Weston; his seven children, Robert (Kathy) Hommerding, Mosinee, William (Sissa) Hommerding, Wausau, Daniel (Tanya) Hommerding, Schofield, Sheila (Isadore Umlauft)Hommerding, Auburndale, Julie (Michael O'Neal) Miller, Weston, Mary (Robert)Moser, Wausau, and Donna (Dane) Parker, Mosinee; 14 grandchildren and nine
great-grandchildren; one brother, Gene Hommerding, Racine; and one half-brother, Russell Hommerding. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one grandson, Troy Hommerding.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 23, 2006, at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild. The Rev. Janusz Kowalski will officiate.
Friends may call one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
The Hayden-Buettgen Funeral Home, Schofield, assisted the family.
