Bertha Habeck, 78, of 500 Grand Ave., Wausau, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006, at the Kennedy Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Weston.
She was born Aug. 12, 1927, in Merrill, the daughter of the late Frank and Fanny (Blada) Pleier. Bertha married Vilas Habeck on Sept. 4, 1954, in St. Paul, Minn. She helped on the family farm and was a homemaker.
She is survived by her four children, Jeff Habeck, Rothschild, Gary (Theresa) Habeck, Wausau, Marilyn Stockman, Merrill, and Diane (Norman) Wolff, Ringle; one son-in-law, Richard Burch, town of Texas; two brothers, Carl (Wava) Pleier, Indiana, and Robert (Bonnie) Pleier, Washington; one brother-in-law, George Rockwell, Wausau; and 10 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Vilas; her daughter, Gayle; her parents; and three sisters, Olga Baughn, Anna Rockwell and Martha Burr.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, 2006, at Grace Lutheran Church, Ringle. The Rev. Glen Seefeldt will officiate. Burial will follow at Forestville Cemetery, Ringle. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are asked to be given to the church in Bertha's name.
The Hayden-Buettgen Funeral Home, Schofield, assisted the family with arrangements.
