| | | Elvira "Vi" Koss, 84, Weston, died Saturday, August 19, 2006, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison.
She was born Nov. 2, 1921, to the late Herman and Martha (Zanto) Tessmer. In 1948 she was married to Roy Joseph Koss. He died on January 3, 2001.
During WWII she worked at Marathon Battery in Wausau and later worked as a Nurses Aid in many different places. Vi loved her family and loved to hug and get hugs. She enjoyed traveling and was an avid collecter of figurines.
She is survived by four daughters, Nancy (John) Roloff, Weston; Peggy (Scott) Mickelson, DeForrest; Patti (Mike) Ciardo, Whitewater; Shari
Markofski, Kronenwetter; six sons, Alan Koss,; Roy Bruce (Jessica) Koss,; Roger (Ila) Koss, all of Wausau; Jack (Peggy) Koss, Edgar; Rev, James (Kris) Koss, Hardin, MT.; Bob (Ruth) Koss, Baraboo; 31 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Melvin (Louise) Tessmer, Hazelhurst; two sisters, Adeline Danner and LaVerne Pittman, both of Wausau; and many
special nieces and nephews. Vi will be missed by many.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 Thursday, August 24, 2006, at St. Stephen Lutheran church,, Wausau. The Rev. Dr. Michael Meranda will officiate. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 23, at Hayden-Buettgen Funeral Home in Schofield, and again at the church on Thursday for one hour prior to the
service.
