| | | Virginia P. Koscik, 85 of Wausau, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006 at Kennedy Park Medical and Rehab. Center. She was born on Oct. 11, 1921 in Milwaukee to the late John and Martha (Kordus) Matuszewski.
In 1949, Virginia married Adolph "Ed" Koscik. He preceded her in death on Apr. 9, 1963.After graduating from Division South High in Milwaukee, Virginia served her country in the Navy Waves as a Nurse in San Diego treating the wounded soldiers coming out of the South Pacific. At the end of the war the couple
moved to Kenosha and Virginia worked for Anaconda American Brass for 32 years as an industrial nurse. When she retired, Virginia moved to the Wausau area to be closer to her family.
She enjoyed crocheting and sewing but especially being with her granddaughters. In her later years, Virginia valued her bible studies with Jehovah's Witnesses.
She is survived by her son, Steven (Carla) Koscik, Wausau, three granddaughters, Marne (Mathew) Ballard, Winter Garden, FL., Kate (Clint)Cherepa, Aurora, WI, and Lauren Koscik, Ocoee, FL., and one sister, Rita (Robert) Sokol, Greenfield. She is preceded in death by two sisters, Dolores and Evelyn and four brothers Arthur, John, Jerome and George.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006 at the Hayden-Buettgen Funeral Home, Schofield. Friends may visit with the family following the service.
