Rose M. Ostroski, 97, of Schofield, entered her heavenly home on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

She was born August 28, 1911 to Joseph and Rose Midlikowski. On April 22, 1929, she married Basil Ostroski at St. Michael’s Church, Wausau, WI. He preceded her in death on July 18, 1990.

She is survived by her daughters Marian (Jablonski) Pickarts of Sun City AZ, Regina (Peter) Wawrzaszek of Rothschild, WI, Arlene (Ray) Suchomski of Harshaw, WI; sons, George (Joan) Ostroski of Rothschild, WI, Gerald (Mary Ann) Ostroski of Duluth, MN, James Ostroski (and friend, Susan Anklam) of Weston, WI; daughter-in-law Shirley Ostroski of Weston, WI and brother Ed (Elaine) Midlikowski of Weston, WI; twenty grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren.

She is also predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Rose Midlikowski, son Patrick Ostroski, granddaughter Mari Jablonski and sons-in-law, Stanley Jablonski and Anthony Pickarts. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, John Midlikowski and Theodore Midlikowski; and her sisters, Angeline Rozek and Ruth Hartkopf.

Rose was a valued employee of Marathon Rubber for twenty five years.

She is believed to be the last Charter Member of St. Therese Catholic Church. Rose experienced the founding and building of this Church from the very beginning of its existence.

Rose belonged to the Catholic Daughter’s Court St. Rose 1062 for over twenty years, the Weston Homemakers, the St. Therese Ladies Council and the St. Therese Altar Society.

She enjoyed gardening, bowling, canning, knitting, sewing and especially her family and grandchildren and her dog, Koko. Her fame was known for her delicious canned pickles.

Her life’s legacy will continue forever in the hearts and minds of those she loved so dearly in so many ways.

Visitation will be on Friday, September 12, 2008, from 4 to 8 pm at Hayden~Buettgen Funeral Home, Schofield, WI. and on Saturday, September 13, 2008, at 11 am at the Church. A 7 pm rosary service will be held Friday.

Services will be held Saturday, September 13, 2008, with a funeral Mass at 12 pm at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild, WI. Christian burial will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be expressed to the Stain Glass Window Fund at St. Therese Catholic Church in Rose’s memory.
