Arlene Spatz, 77, formally of Rothschild, died November 20, 2008 at the Hospice House in Wausau, WI.

She was born May 19,1931 in Little Falls, Minnesot to the late Andrew and Emma Fedor. She had one brother, Bernard (Bernie) Fedor, who proceded her in death. In 1951 she married Randy Spatz at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild. They had one daughter, Peg(Ken) Rosin and a granddaughter, Shannon (Brandon) Trapp.

She waitressed at Palms Supper Club for over two decades and provided a fun house for the neighborhood kids and her daughter to gather for Kick the Can, Red Light Gren Light and Sidewalk Volleyball, often joining in with them. During her ganddaughter's high school years she was a wonderful confidant and friend.

The last five years had provided many challenges for Arlene and particularly the last ten months at which time she displayed grace in the face of great pain. Her daughter and granddaughter are greatful for that time during which she taught them how to survive life with courage, determination and a quick wit.

Both Arlene and her family are greatful to her friend, Bill Hinner and The Renaissance where the staff and residents became an integral part of her life, culminated in spirited Wii bowling tournament that offered Arlene a respite from pain.

There will be a gathering of friends and family at The Renaissance, 2602 Barbican Ave., Weston, WI on Sunday, November 23,2008 with a 2:00 visitation, with a memorial service to follow at 3:00. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be sent to the Aspirace Hospice Program in Arlene's name.
