Valeria “Val” Thiele-Thompson

Valeria “Val” Thiele-Thompson went to join the Lord, her savior, Saturday, March 14, 2009.
She was born February 6, 1915, to Otto and Mary (Beirsdorf) Duvie in Wausau. Val was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. She married Frank Thiele August 11, 1935. He passed away in 1968. On May 11, 1974 she married Edward Thompson. He passed away in 1976.

Val worked as a guide for the Leigh Yawkey Art Museum in Wausau. In addition to this job she was also a Ladies Aid for the American Legion and A.A.R.P. Val owned a resort on Pickeral Lake and enjoyed being a seamstress, good cook, and babysitting for her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schofield.

She is survived by two daughters; Janice (Max) Corazalla, Kronenwetter and Ruth (Norman) Kurszewski,Tamarac FL; one daughter-in-law; Nancy Thiele, Rothschild; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren;and 6 great-great grandchildren.Val is proceeded in death by her parents; two husbands; one brother; Norman Duvie; two sisters; Adeline Hollman and Marion Duvine; one sister-in-law; Eleanor Klemm; and two sons; Jerry Thiele and Duane Thiele.

Services will be held at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schofield on Wednesday, March 18, 2009. Visitation will be at 10:00am followed with service at 11:00am. Inurnment will be at Restlawn
Cemetery.
