Elinor Grace Nitz, 92, Glendale, formerly of Weston, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, at Homestead Ridge Assisted Living in Glendale.
Elinor was born July 17, 1917, in the town of Bradley, daughter of the late Erick C. Olson and Hilda (Setterlund) Olson. She marred John Nitz in 1941 in Calumet City, Ill. The couple moved to Wausau in 1945.
She was a homemaker, avid crossword puzzle fan, and loved to read.
Survivors include her children, Thomas Nitz, Weston, and Carole (David) Moon, Glendale; and one grandson, Dale (fiancee, Kelly Coleman) Nitz, Phoenix, and his mother, Pat Nitz, Phoenix. She is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, May 19, 1995; and six brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009, at Hayden-Buettgen Funeral Home, Schofield. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Kronenwetter. Friends and family may call from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
