Frederick "Fritz" Domke

Frederick “Fritz” Junior Domke, 83, of Gleason passed away Friday October 16, 2009, with his family by his side after a short battle with cancer.
Fred was born in Pittsville on September 28, 1926 to Fred and Agatha (Flugstead) Sr. Domke. He married Bette Jane Schmidt on July 3, 1949 in Nakoosa at the Parsonage. They resided in Lac Du Flambeau

Fred was a man of many traits. He was a carpenter, welder, brick layer, mechanic, electrician and a long haul truck driver. He has done everything from skidding logs with mules to sealing the Glen Canyon Dam in Arizona. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1945. All the while finding time to raise 9 childeren.

There wasn’t a musical instrument he couldn’t play. His passion was his mandolin. He enjoyed going to the Blue Grass Festivals.

Fred was a loving man who was larger than life, that can not be told in a few short words
so, to you Dearest Father, Beloved Husband, Precious Grandfather- you will be forever missed, always loved and never forgotten.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his son Gary Wayne Domke; and
three sisters Sharon Rogers, Jeanette Rogers, Patricia Domke;

Fred is survived by his wife Bette Domke, Gleason; six sons Jeffery Domke, King, Gregory (Nancy) Domke, Terre Haute In., Richard (Linda) Domke, Nobelsville In., Kevin (Debbie) Domke, Elton, David and Joseph Domke both of Oconto Falls;three daughters Susan (Chris) Wassan, Salmon Id., Cynthia (Randy) Filbeck, Fairplay Co., Carrie (John) Clouse, Angelica N.Y.; and one brother James Domke, Holly Ridge N.C. He also leaves behind 23 adoring grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
