Aurora Casket Company announced, a consumer information and education website designed to guide consumers through the funeral planning process. covers a broad spectrum of funeral-related topics, with over 350 articles covering issues ranging from memorial service planning, grief support, and free online obituaries to products, service, and pre-planning. It also features the Funeral Home Locator, a guide that helps consumers locate family-owned funeral homes across the United States.

An interactive "Ask the Experts" section provides authoritative advice on issues related to funeral planning and grief support. The panel is staffed by licensed professional funeral directors and grief support counselors and questions are already pouring in, according to Aurora executive vice president of operations, Chris Barrott.

"The site is designed for all consumers-whether they have experienced a loss and are planning a funeral now or are pre-planning arrangements for themselves or their loved ones," says Barrott.

"Most people have little or no experience planning a funeral, and the decisions and details can be overwhelming. answers questions, illustrates options, and provides resources for people who want to know more."

To help consumers understand the decisions they need to make, the site offers a free online Funeral Planning Personal Preparation Guide, which covers the planning process step by step.

The guide includes a planning form that can be completed and stored securely online, printed and filed with other important papers, or e-mailed directly to the funeral home of the user's choice.

"The Web site provides comprehensive information about the many options people have for funerals, memorials, caskets, urns, disposition of ashes, obituaries, and more," says Barrott.

"If you can't find the information you need, you can explore our 'Ask the Experts' archives or submit a question of your own. This site will answer all of your funeral and memorial and grief support questions."

The site's online obituary offering is also unique in that it allows consumers to post obituaries free. While this capability exists on other consumer sites around the Internet, is the only site that doesn't charge for the service, added Barrott.

Headquartered in Aurora, Indiana, Aurora Casket Company is the nation's largest privately owned manufacturer and distributor of caskets, cremation services, memorial products and marketing consultation and is widely recognized as the industry leader in the e-business arena.
