| Donald Philip “Sarge” Brehmer, age 80, of Hilbert died on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. He was born April 8, 1928 in the Town of Rantoul, son of the late Herman & Helen (Haese) Brehmer. Don married Lucile Jandrey on June 14, 1953 at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Chilton. After graduating from the Brillion High School, Don entered the US Marine Corp and later joined the United States Air Force. Upon his retirement from the USAF, he lived with his family on a farm in rural Hilbert. He retired from GTE in 1987. He was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Chilton where he taught Sunday School for many years and served on the church council. Don loved to fly and built several ultra-light planes. He was also an active member of the EAA for many years. Survivors include his wife of 55 years: Lucille; 4 children: Paul (Karla) Brehmer of Eagle River, AK, Phil (Marlene) Brehmer of River Falls, WI, Sallie (Shane) Peik of Chilton, David (Tammy) Brehmer of Chilton; 11 grandchildren: Heidi, Hannah & Holly Brehmer, Elwood & Charlie Brehmer, Amanda, Angela, Ryan & Alyssa Peik, and Caleb & Erica Brehmer; and a sister-in-law: Gloria Brehmer of Fond du Lac. He was also preceded in death by a sister: Vivian (Victor) Jandrey; and a brother: Earl Brehmer. Funeral services will be at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at the St. Martin Lutheran Church in Chilton with the Rev. Wayne Huebner. Burial will be in the Brillion Community Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 when services will be held. A memorial fund has been established in the name of Donald P. Brehmer. Wieting Family Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. | ||
