| Viola A. Brandes, age 99, of Chilton was greeted with open arms from the Lord on October 29, 2009. Viola was born on October 5, 1910 in Fremont, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Ernest and Elizabeth (Anderson) Schmidt. She was united in marriage to Alvin O. Brandes on June 5, 1933, at Oshkosh, Wisconsin. She and her husband owned and operated Brandes Meat Market in Chilton for many years; he preceded her in death on February 21, 1995. She was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ and its Women's Guild. Viola loved being with her family and had a great love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Viola is loved and survived by two daughters: Lynn Ditter of Plymouth, and Kristine (Donald) Pagel of Chilton; seven very special grandchildren: Scott Kleinhans of Houston, TX, Jill (Jay) Grosshuesch of Plymouth, WI, Todd (Denise) Kleinhans of Plymouth, Stacey (Scott) Wrenn of Brookfield, WI, Jon (Lia) Ditter of Lockport, IL, Tim (Pam) Pagel of Chilton, Jeff Pagel of Chilton, three step grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and six step great grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; especially Ella & Cliff LaCrosse, Barb Hoffman, and Sister Jesse Marie Mortimer. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alvin; 2 sons-in-law, a step grandson; 3 sisters; and 9 brothers. Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Sunday, November 1, 2009 at Ebenezer UCC (44 W. Washington) in Chilton with the Rev. Kathy Gloff officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 12:00 noon until 1:00 PM on Sunday, November 1, 2009 when the service will be held. | ||
