Adolph P. Blohowiak, age 91, of 521 Water St. Chilton, died on Thursday April 8, 2004 at the Calumet Medical Center in Chilton. He was born on December 30, 1912 in Denmark, WI son of the late William and Mary (Kaminski) Blohowiak. He married Violet Dahlke on January 27, 1945 in Hugo, OK. Adolph was employed by Geimer’s Milk Products and Kriwanek Brothers in Denmark, before entering the military in January of 1941 serving through November of 1941. Immediately after Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 he was recalled to service and sent overseas where he joined the 32nd Red Arrow Division of the 128th Inf. in the Pacific Zone. During his military service, he was awarded two battle stars from the Buna-Gona and Papua Wars in the New Guinea area, plus other citations. On November 12, 1944, he returned to the United States and was stationed at Camp Maxey, TX until his honorable discharge on July 12, 1945. In September of that same year he began working for the Calumet County Highway Department until his retirement in 1977. After his retirement he was employed by M&N Disposal of Chilton. He was a member of the American Legion Post #125 and St. Augustine Catholic Church in Chilton. He is survived by his wife Violet of Chilton, a son; Mark (Chris) Blohowiak of Neenah, a sister-in-law and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an eight year old daughter; Faye Ellen on December 21, 1953, six brothers, and three sisters. Adolph was the last surviving Blohowiak sibling. Funeral Services will be held at 12 Noon on Monday April 12, 2004 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Chilton with the Rev. Gary New S.D.S. officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home, 411 W. Main St. Chilton, On Monday from 9 to 11:30 AM when family prayers will be held.
