| | | Joseph A. Anheier age 89 of 720 Greve Ct. in Hilbert died on Sunday August 1, 2004 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton after a short illness. He was born February 24, 1915 at Theda Clark Hospital in Appleton the son of the late John & Susan (Dohr) Anheier. He attended school at St. Mary’s Grade School in Hilbert and graduated from Hilbert High School in 1934. He attended Bowlby Business College in Appleton. He married Irmina Koehler on June 15, 1938 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hilbert. He and his wife operated the family farm in the town of Woodville until 1963 when they sold the farm and moved to Hilbert. He sold Life Insurance for the Catholic Order of Foresters for many years and also worked for the US department of Agriculture selling crop insurance and settling claims for crop losses. He was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hilbert and the Catholic Order of Foresters. He also was a member of the Chilton Eagles. For many years he and his wife enjoyed dancing, bowling, bus trips and cross country skiing. He was an avid walleye and perch fisherman on Lake Winnebago and enjoyed fishing with his friend, Chuck in the Land of Lakes area. He and his wife also enjoyed sturgeon fishing and had much success over the years. He also enjoyed traveling to Kansas City and fishing bass with his friends in the area. Survivors include a daughter: Ginny Sommers and friend Larry Ruedinger of Appleton; 2 sons: Richard (Carol) Anheier of Appleton and John (Sandi) Anheier of Kansas City, MO; 4 grandchildren: Kristin (Nikos) Efthimiou of Appleton, Mary (Chad) Young of Searsmont, ME, Paul Anheier of Minneapolis, Tara Jo Anheier and friend Kieth of Appleton; 2 great grandchildren: Selena & Elias Efthimiou. Joseph is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, many special friends and will be missed especially by his drive in buddies. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Irmina; 3 sisters: Martha Weber, Stella Rooney, Marie Baker; and a brother: Peter Anheier. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday August 5, 2004 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hilbert. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 4 – 8:00 PM on Wednesday August 4, 2004 and on Thursday at the funeral home from 9:30 – 10:30 AM when family prayers will be held. A memorial fund has been established in the name of Joseph A. Anheier. The family wishes to thank all of the doctors, nurses and other staff at Calumet Medical Center and St. Elizabeth Hospital who cared for dad during his last days. The family also wishes to thank all of his friends for their support.
