Viola “Ol” M. Amel, age 82 of N1827 Hwy 151 Chilton, died on Thursday June 23, 2005 at Morningside Health Center in Sheboygan, after a short battle with cancer. She was born on December 29, 1922 in Fond du Lac daughter of the late Joseph and Martha (Wagner) Laudolff. She married Delmar “Bug” Amel on October 15, 1946 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. He preceded her in death on December 13, 1996. She worked for the Chilton Metal Products for many years, but also enjoyed working side by side, with her husband on their hobby farm in the Town of Brothertown, where she especially enjoyed raising chickens. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Jericho, the Brothertown Fishing Club, enjoyed sturgeon fishing, casino trips, shaking dice “downtown” with her friends, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by two sons; David (Jean) Amel of Sheboygan, and Joseph Amel of Sheboygan, a daughter-in-law; Dawn (Larry) Wensauer of Plymouth, 7 grandchildren; Dana (Bill) Fenili, of Appleton, Paula Amel of Appleton, Trevor Amel of Sheboygan, Derek Amel of Schamburg IL, Donald (Tara) Amel of Keller TX, Deanna Amel of Reedsville, Douglas Amel of Austin TX, a special grandson; Michael (Julie) Bieber and family, a sister; Alice (Babe) Halter of Fond du Lac, a brother; Lawrence (Norma) Laudolff of Fond du Lac, 2 brothers-in-law; Arvid (LaVerne) Amel, Dennis (Virginia) Amel, 4 sisters-in-law; Donna Laudolff, Martha Laudolff, Elreta Quast, and Marion Amel. She is further survived by many nieces nephews and special friends especially her friend Gary Ecker. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons; Donald and Daniel “Pete” Amel, a sister; Esther, and 4 brothers; Sylvester, Ernst, Albert, and Greg. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Monday June 27, 2005 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Jericho with the Rev. Thomas Akpen officiating. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at Wieting Family Funeral Home, 411 W. Main St. Chilton, from 4 to 8 PM on Sunday and again on Monday at the Church from 10 AM until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established in the name of Viola M. Amel.
