| Dorothy M. Bechlem, age 87 of Fond du Lac died on July 7, 2005 at Alttera Sterling House in Fond du Lac. She was born on October 27, 1917 in Chilton daughter of the late Edward and Mathilda (Gerhartz) Bechlem. She attended St. Augustine Catholic School and graduated from Chilton High School. She worked various jobs in Chilton, Fond du Lac, Los Angeles, and Chicago, and worked for nearly 20 years at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac retiring in 1982. Through out her life, especially after retirement, Dorothy was an avid reader and spent much time at the library. She is survived by two children; Paula (Peter) Klima of West Bend, Joseph (Dorothy C.) Bechlem of Mt. Calvary, 2 sisters; Lilyan Vonck of Appleton, Mildred Buhl of Menasha, and 1 sister-in-law; Alice Bechlem of Chilton. She was preceded in death by a sister; Margaret Dawson, 2 brothers; Edward Jr. and William C. Bechlem, and 3 brothers-in-law; William Dawson, Ted Vonck, and Norbert Buhl. Funeral Services will be held at 6 PM on Monday July 11, 2005 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (St. Augustine), 113 N. State St., Chilton with the Rev. Thomas Akpen officiating. Burial of Dorothy’s cremains will take place in the Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 5 PM until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established in the name of Dorothy M. Bechlem for the Fond du Lac Public Library.
