LeRoy J. Broeckel age 67 of W3275 W. Jefferson Rd in Chilton died peacefully on Monday March 20, 2006 at his home in Chilton. He was born May 22, 1938 in Chilton son of the late Henry & Viola (Boehnlein) Broeckel. He married Dorothy Ann Pitzen on October 7, 1961 at St. Joe Catholic Church in St. Joe. She preceded him in death on April 4, 1974. LeRoy graduated from Chilton High School in 1956 and worked for the Chilton Canning Company, Tecumseh Products, and farmed all his life in the town of Brothertown until retiring in 1995. He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Charlesburg, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed playing cards, bingo, gardening, canning, watching basketball games and the Green Bay Packers. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his children: Sandy (Erick) Matznick of Kiel, Kathy Bowe of Chilton, Ken (Sue) Broeckel of Chilton, Michael Broeckel of DePere, Daniel Broeckel of Chilton, Bob (Sharon) Broeckel of Chilton; 11 grandchildren: Brian Kohlman, Amy Broeckel, Adam, Aaron & Andrew Bowe, Matthew Broeckel, Jacob & Anna Broeckel, Cheyanne, Kevin, & Ryan Broeckel; a brother: Elmer (Ruth) Broeckel of Sheboygan; 2 sisters: Doris (Claude) Knaus of Chilton, Shirley (Lester) Freund of Chilton; and special friends of the family: Mary Koss of Chilton and Laurie Reinen-Broeckel of DePere. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral Services will be at 11:30 AM on Thursday March 23, 2006 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Charlesburg with the Rev. Norman Krutzik officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 4-8:00 PM on Wednesday March 22, 2006 and on Thursday at the funeral home from 10-11:00 AM when family prayers will be held. A parish vigil service will be held at 7:30 PM on Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
