| Louis J. Achter, age 79, of 311 Diane St. Chilton, died on Fri. May 19, 2006 at his home. He was born on February 1, 1927 in the Town of Stockbridge, son of the late Henry & Mary (Wettstein) Achter. He farmed in the Town of Brothertown for 43 years, worked for the Northland Turkey Farm in Chilton for many years and also for the Leverenz Shoe Co. in New Holstein for many years. He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Chilton. Louis enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling. Survivors include 6 nieces & nephews, Sandy (Ken) Dietz of Chilton, Sue Achter of Chilton, Gloria (Bill) Lamers of Pulaski, Patty Boehnlein of Chilton, Judy (Steve) Goeser of Chilton, Alan (Sue) Achter of Montreal, WI; a great niece, Julie Ditter and her children, Amanda, Ashley, and Joshua all of Chilton; an aunt, Josephine Schreiner of New Holstein; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry & Mary Achter, a brother Leander Achter, and a sister, Hildegard Boehnlein. Funeral services will be at 11:30 AM on Thursday May 25, 2006 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Chilton, with the Rev. Greg Smith officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Chilton. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday, and again on Thursday from 10 to 11 AM when family prayers will be held. A parish prayer service will be held at 6 PM Wednesday evening at the funeral home. | ||
