| Elmer E. Broeckel age 72 of Sheboygan died on November 29, 2006 at the Sheboygan Memorial Hospital in Sheboygan. He was born July 20, 1934 in Charlesburg son of the late Henry & Viola (Boehnlein) Broeckel. Elmer married Ruth Goos on June 6, 1956 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Jericho. The couple just celebrated 50 years of marriage this past summer. He worked for the Chilton Canning Co. and later for Kohler Co. before retiring in 1999 after 45 years of service. Elmer was a member of the Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheboygan, the Brothertown Fishing Club, and the Kohler Quarter Century Club. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed spending time on his farm where he spent a lot of time driving his four-wheeler, Ford tractors and feeding and watching the birds. He especially loved spending quality time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife: Ruth of Sheboygan; 4 children: Victoria Schloss of Monona, WI, Jim (Joanne) Broeckel of Plymouth, Tom Broeckel of Sheboygan, Lori (Frank) Anderson of Chilton; 5 grandchildren: Tarl & Talina Schloss, Ashton & Paige Broeckel & Ariana Anderson; 2 sisters: Doris (Claude) Knaus of Chilton, Shirley (Lester) Freund of Chilton; a sister-in-law: Jane Zahn of Chilton; his cat: "Muffy"; and grand-dogs: "Smokey" & "Shilo". Elmer is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by a brother: LeRoy (Dorothy) Broeckel; and a brother-in-law: Willard Zahn. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday December 2, 2006 at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (1212 Teckla Pl.) in Kiel with the Rev. Norman Krutzik officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Jericho. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday December 1, 2006 and on Saturday at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM when the service will be held. A memorial fund has been established in the name of Elmer E. Broeckel. | ||
