Lila Mae Fields, 65, of Dunkirk, IN passed away peacefully, with family by her side on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at her residence. She was born March 19, 1944 in Horry County, SC, the daughter of Woodrow Wilson and Ora Mae (Powell) Norris. She was a homemaker and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Lila attended Jackson Park Baptist Church. As a pastors wife she was a servant to others. Her ministry for the Lord was a reflection of her Lord, Jesus Christ.
She leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband of 47 years, Claude Fields; her mother, Ora Mae Norris; her children, Greg Fields (wife, Deanna) of Madisonville, TN, Tina Anderson (husband, Ed) of Centerburg, OH, Irwin Fields (Kelly) of Muncie, Kyle Fields (wife, Gina) of New Carlisle, OH, Tonya Lykins (husband, Jeff) of Dunkirk, Mark Fields of Dunkirk, Randy Fields (wife, Cheryl) of Lillian, AL, Quentin Fields (wife, Amy) of Parker City, IN, Monica Webb (husband, Stewart) of Covington, OH, Marella Rich (husband, Wes) of Christiansburg, OH, Neal Fields (wife, Angie) of Dunkirk, IN, Simon Fields (wife, Faith) of Muncie, Joylette Fields (Aaron) of Dunkirk, and Hannah Lopez (husband, Jose’) of Eaton, IN; three sisters, Elwanda Ard (husband, Ellie) of Tabor City, NC, Shirley Burkett (husband, Billy) of Dade City, FL, and Hilda Fialko (husband, Ira) of Crystal River, FL; a sister-in-law, Ruby Norris; 59 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father; a brother, Worley Norris; and a granddaughter, Fannie Mae Fields.
A local service to celebrate Lila’s will be 4:00 pm Sunday, November 22, 2009 at Dunkirk Memorial Chapel 317 N. Main St. Dunkirk, IN 47336. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 1pm to service time at the funeral home.
Additional services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at the Assembly of God Church 1405 1st Ave. Big Stone Gap, VA. Friends may call from 11 am to service time at the church.
She will be greatly missed by her family. She and her faith were guiding lights for her family, friends and all who knew her. We love you.
